Today's visit was a routine monitoring inspection. The inspection began at 9:45am and concluded at 2:00pm. There were forty-one children present with nine staff members. During the the inspection three out of fifty-six children's records were reviewed, five out of thirteen staff records were reviewed, the playground was viewed, outdoor time was observed, lunch time was observed, nap time was observed, medication was viewed, all three classrooms were observed, and emergency supplies were viewed. Standard #: 22VAC40-185-160-A Description: Based on the inspector's review of five out of thirteen staff records, the center failed to ensure two recently hired staff members completed TB screenings within twenty-one days of employment. Evidence: The records for staff members #2 and #5 have documented start dates of 9/12/16 and there are no results of TB screenings documented in the records. TB screenings are required within the first twenty-one day of employment. Plan of Correction: Both staff members have been given a deadline to complete a TB within one week of today's visit.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-510-C Description: Based on the inspector's review of all four medications and authorizations, the center failed to ensure the medication authorization for a medication included the duration of authorization. Evidence: The authorization for an inhaler did not include the parent's duration of authorization for the potential administartion of the medication. Plan of Correction: The PD will have the parent give a date of duration for the medication and the information will be added to the authorization.
