Comments:
An unannounced renewal inspection was conducted today, October 7, 2016 from approximately 12:00 until 1:00 pm . Inspector observed 46 children directly supervised by 4 staff members. Ratios and supervision were in compliance. A sample of children's records and medications were reviewed. The physical plant, medications, emergency supplies and procedures and emergency drills were also reviewed. The children were participating in a "Pajama Day" and engaged in various activities, to include: hand washing, eating lunch brought from home and transitioning to outdoor play. Areas of non-compliance are identified in this report. The exit interview was conducted with the Director. Standard #: 22VAC40-185-280-B
Description: Based on observation, not all hazardous substances were kept in a locked place using a safe locking method that prevents access by children. Evidence: A bottle of spray cleaner containing bleach was observed in an unlocked cabinet above the sink in room #2.

Plan of Correction: Corrected during inspection.

Standard #: 22VAC40-185-510-F
Description: Based on review of medication, not all medication was observed to have the direction label attached. Evidence: The emergency medication for child#1 was observed to be in a labeled zipper bag, however the there was not observed to be a label on the package with instructions.

Plan of Correction: The center will consult with the school clinic to see if an additional label is available there. If not the center will ask for the parent's assistance in obtaining one.
