Comments:
An unannounced renewal inspection was conducted on Friday, October 14, 2016, from 2:45pm until 5:00pm. Present today were eleven children with two staff. Both staff are currently certified in first aid and CPR. The children arrive after school, wash their hands and have snack provided by each individual family. Today was Movie Friday, so the children were preparing to watch a movie. There are two classrooms used by this program. The playground is shared by two licensed programs located in the church. Monday through Thursday the children have a "quiet" hour to complete homework assignments and receive assistance from staff if needed. Practice evacuation drills and practice shelter-in-place drills are conducted each month with the last drill conducted 10/5/16. Two staff records and three children's records were inspected.

Violations:
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-540-A
Description: Based on inspection of the vehicle used to transport children, the center did not ensure all required first aid supplies were present. Evidence: The vehicle used to transport children had a first aid kit missing a thermometer, scissors and two triangular bandages.

Plan of Correction: Per Center: "We will purchase the appropriate materials for our 1st aid kit."
