Technical Assistance:
Discussed the following standards: physical plant, and medications.

Comments:
An unannounced renewal inspection was conducted today. Observed 110 children directly supervised by 17 staff members. Ratios and supervision were in compliance. A sample of 4 children's records and 4 staff records were reviewed. The physical plant, medications, emergency supplies and procedures were also reviewed. The children were engaged in various activities, to include: free play, circle time, reading, indoor play time, hand washing, snack time, art projects, and cooking projects. Areas of non-compliance are identified in this report. The exit interview was conducted with the Director. Standard #: 22VAC40-185-280-B
Description: Based upon observations made, hazardous substances were not kept in a locked place using a safe locking method that prevents access by children. Evidence: 1) A bleach and water solution spray bottles and inside an unlocked cabinet underneath the changing table in the Eric Litwin classroom. 2) Cleaning solutions were observed inside a locked closet; however, the key was accessible to children in the 'Dr. Seuss' classroom.

Description: Based upon observations made, electrical outlets did not have protective covers. Evidence: A surge protector located near the computer center was missing four protective covers in the R. Kipling classroom.
