Comments:
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today from approximately 1:30 to 3:30pm. Ratios for all groups were found in compliance. The children were getting up from nap and eating snack. Children that ride the bus were being dismissed and the children that remained were participating in group time, music activities, dramatic play and other self selected activities. Good adult/child interaction and language development activities were observed. Medication procedures were reviewed, and staff with current MAT, first aid and CPR training were on site. Records for new staff were reviewed and found complete. New computers and other equipment for the classrooms have been obtained. If you have any questions, I can be reached at 703-479-4709.

Violations:
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-510-A
Description: Based on record review, there was no written parental authorization to administer a nonprescription medication to a child in care. Findings: At the time of the inspection, the inspector found that a parent authorization to administer a non prescription medication was on a form that authorized Prince William County School personnel to administer the medication, not the child care center staff.

Plan of Correction: Written authorization from the parent to allow center staff to administer the medication was obtained.
