- Technical Assistance:
Background checks must be mailed within 7 days of hire. If not returned within 30 days of hire, please contact VDSS or Va. State Police (as applicable) to check on the status of the background check. Please document the status of the background check and employee can continue to work. Without checking by the 30th day, the employee will not be allowed to return to work until the background check is returned.
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted with new center director and center staff. The children were having rest/quiet time, afternoon snack, and afternoon activities. There were 45 children present, ranging in age from 4 months to 10 years old. Snack served today: bananas and chex mix. Six staff files were reviewed - please see Supplemental Summary for missing item. An emergency escape drill and a shelter in place drill will need to be conducted before the end of this week. Please have staff reduce the use of "No thank you" when redirecting children. The last fire inspection was conducted 5/3/2016. The last health inspection was conducted 6/3/2016. Evidence: two spray bottles in the toddler room were not labeled with the contents. Three spray bottles in the older infant room were not labeled with the contents.
