An unannounced monitoring inspection was completed on January 20, 2017. The purpose of this visit was to measure the facility?s compliance with most but not all of, the licensing standards. The following ratios were observed: Young Infants-3 children/1 staff; Older Infants- 4 children/1 staff; Toddlers- 5 children/1 staff; Twos- 7 children/1 staff; Preschool - 16 children/2 staff ; JK- 14 children/2 staff The young infants were observed napping, being held and playing on the floor. The older infants were going for a ride in the stroller. The toddlers were engaged in free play and were being diapered. The twos were reviewing the letters of the alphabet during circle time. The preschool children were singing and dancing while engaged in music and movement. The JK class was completing a hibernation activity while learning about bears. The facility administers medication. Medication and accompanying authorizations were reviewed. The last evacuation drill was conducted 12/13/16. The most recent shelter in place drill was conducted 12/27/16. Four children?s records were reviewed and three new staff records were reviewed. Approximate time of the inspection: 10:55am to 12:48pm
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-570-E Description: Based on observations in the infant classroom, the facility did not ensure that a child's bottles were dated. EVIDENCE: There were bottles in the infant refrigerator that were labeled with the child's name, but were not dated. Plan of Correction: Corrected in class that day.
