Technical Assistance:
The following standards were discussed with administration: 22VAC40-185-(4)-280-G Substitute containers indicate contents 22VAC40-185-(7)-500-B-3-c Nonabsorbent surface for diapering and the use of pull-ups.

Comments:
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted from 9:30am-11:00am.Upon arrival there were 43 children in the licensed program in care with 10 staff present. A sample of 2 staff and 4 children's records were reviewed in addition to 2 medications. Children were observed during Montessori lessons and on the playground. Emergency supplies and first aid kit were reviewed.

Violations:
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-240-C
Description: Based on a record review the center failed to ensure staff who work directly with children had the required 16 annual hours of staff development and training. Evidence: Staff #2 had 14 documented training hours for the 2015-2016 school year.

Plan of Correction: This was an administrative oversight. The director will follow-up with staff to ensure all required hours are acquired this school year.
