Comments:
The following Monitoring Inspection took place between the hours of 9:15am and 11:30am which included the exit. Today, I met with the Director and staff of KidTime Christian Academy located in Hamilton, Virginia. At the start of this unannounced monitoring inspection there were a total of 27 children with 5 staff; good ratios in all 3 rooms. Both children?s files and staff files were reviewed. The children were engaged in the following: circle time, discussing weather, show and tell and singing songs. Nice transition from circle time to table activities were observed, If you should have any future questions, please email at: lisa.hudson@dss.virginia.gov . Thank you for your cooperation during the inspection.

Violations:
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-340-F
Description: Based on licensing inspector's observation, sight and sound supervision was not provided for one child. Evidence: Licensing Inspector observed a 3 year old child exit the classroom and walk down the hall to the hall bathroom. This child was determined not within sight and sound of staff. This hallway is accessible to food providers that deliver food and other parents that may be dropping off or picking up children.

Plan of Correction: Center is in the process of hiring additional staff for coverage and also will ensure that when children need to go to the bathroom, a staff person will be within sight and sound of children accessing the bathroom in the hallway.
