Discussed with the Director: Fire Inspections are being sent to the facilities via email.
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted beginning at 12:45 and ending at 3:00. There were 78 children in care at the time of the inspection. Children were ages 2 - 6. All classrooms were in ratio. Children were observed playing on the outdoor play area, readying for nap, resting. Kindergarten class was observed at group time. Classrooms continue to be well kept and supplied with a wide range of Montessori appropriate supplies. Reviewed 4 staff files - complete Reviewed 8 children's files - complete Reviewed medications for 4 children - see violation notice. Emergency escape drills and shelter in place drills are up to date as are Health and Fire Inspections. Reviewed accident reports - see violation notice. Standard #: 22VAC40-185-510-E Description: Based on a review of 5 children's medications, it was determined that the facility is not labelling over the counter medications with dose of the medication to be given. Evidence: Several children have Benadryl or the generic form and have the boxes labeled with the child's name only. No dose in on the box. Plan of Correction: The Director will review all medications and assure that over the counter medications are all labelled with the child's name and the dose to be goven.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-550-M Description: Based on a review of 10 accident reports, it was determined that there were not documentation of how and when parents were notified, nor were there parent signatures. Evidence: The accident reports where the parents were not called, do not have documentation of how and when (date and time) parents were notified. None of the accident reports have parent signatures but all have 2 staff signatures. Plan of Correction: The Director will discuss with the owner changing the accident report form to add the required information.
