An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today from approximately 1:10am-3:30pm. There were 62 children (16mons.-5yrs.) directly supervised by 7 staff. The physical plant, 3 staff records, 4 children?s records, medications, evacuation drills, emergency supplies, and policies were inspected. Children were observed participating in group play, and during rest time . There was an abundant supply of materials for the children. The center was clean and organized. Areas of non-compliance are identified in the Violation Notice. Standard #: 22VAC40-185-60-A Description: Based on a sample of children's records all required information was not maintained. Evidence: During inspection : Child #1 was missing: parent work phone number. Child #4 was missing 1 of 2 Emergency Contacts Plan of Correction: I will follow- up today with parents today
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-270-A Description: Based on inspection of Child Day Center all equipment in center was not kept in safe condition. Evidence: During inspection the toilet paper holder in the school age bathroom was broken, leaving sharp metal exposed to children. Plan of Correction: Children will use bathroom in an adjacent room and I have called in repair.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-510-C Description: Based on inspection of medications on site all required supplies were not available. During inspection there was an authorization for "Diphenhydarine HCL" on site however the medication was not available. Plan of Correction: I will speak with dad to update the record.
