Technical Assistance:
Discussed: Background search requirements for renewal of license in June 2017, expired medications returned to parent during inspection and equipment usage according to manufacturer guidelines.

Comments:
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today. Observed 73 children directly supervised by 13 staff members. Ratios and supervision were in compliance. A sample of 3 children's records and 2 staff records were reviewed. The physical plant, medications, emergencies supplies and procedures were also reviewed. The children were engaged in various activities, to include: nap/quiet time, a child proudly showing the inspector his quarter, children being comforted that were not feeling well and self care routines including hand washing and potty time. Samples of children's daily activities including writing samples and sign in sheets for centers for classroom management and ongoing building projects with blocks and tee pees were observed. The exit interview was conducted with the director. Inspection conducted 2:00 pm- 4:10 pm. Standard #: 22VAC40-185-270-A
Description: Based upon observation, areas and equipment in the center were found to be in need of repair. Evidence: In the butterflies classroom inspector observed peeling paint along the radiator unit under the windows running the length of the classroom.

Plan of Correction: Director will put a request in to building maintenance. Request has already been submitted dealing with issue in the ceiling of the room.
