Discussion was held on the topics of current enrollment and current staffing. Discussion of backpacks being hung up within the classroom first, and then proceeding to playground.
The following inspection took place between the hours of 10 am through 1 pm. Today, I met with the Staff of the Loudoun Valley Community Center located in the town of Purcellville, Virginia. At the start of this unannounced monitoring inspection there were a total of 105 children with 15 staff; good ratios in all 8 groups. A total of 5 children?s files were reviewed. Staff files were reviewed on an earlier date. The children were engaged in the following: circle time, clean up, phonics, hand washing, snack, bathroom breaks, story time, large motor skills outside on the playground, reading, drop off from school, and other organized activities. Standard #: 22VAC40-185-510-C Description: Based on review, 1 of 2 medications observed on site indicated that the medication had expired. Evidence - 1. On the date of inspection, medication to be administer on an as needed basis for Child #1 had expired. 2. The expiration date listed on the medication was October 2016. 3. Since the date of expiration, the medication has not be administered to Child #1, but has remained on site unused. Plan of Correction: The expired medication shall be returned to the Parent of Child #1, and a current medication shall be obtained.
