Comments:
The licensing inspector conducted an unannounced monitoring inspection on Wednesday, February 15, 2017 from 12:40 pm to 3:36 pm to determine the center's compliance with licensing standards. During this inspection, the Director was present and accompanied and assisted the licensing inspector throughout this inspection. The children were observed by the licensing inspector in the various classroom settings. The census for today's inspection consisted of 63 children. The infants were observed by the licensing inspector completing various activities to include being fed by staff, sitting in bouncer seats, and sleeping in the designated cribs area. In the Threes/Fours/Pre-K classrooms the children were all observed by the licensing inspector during nap time, asleep on assigned cots , and some staff played soft music while the children were napping. During this inspection, the licensing inspector conducted a formal observation in the Two's classroom as the children were observed awake from nap time, finishing up their snack, some children were observed assisting the staff with cleaning the table, participating in free play with peers and staff, and playing dress up. The children's snack consisted of cookies and milk. Overall, the staff were observed by the licensing inspector providing age appropriate supervision and addressing the children's overall needs. Interviews were held with staff throughout the inspection. Additionally, when appropriate the inspector interacted with children in each classroom. There were also various activities and artwork of the children's displayed in the classroom settings. All of the classrooms including the school aged areas were inspected and were observed by the licensing inspector to be equipped with age appropriate toys, and supplies. There were three school aged children present during this inspection. The children were observed by the licensing inspector engaging with peers and sitting in the designated area until the other children arrived at the center. The staff was observed preparing snacks for the school aged children's arrival. The required posting were reviewed and determined to be in compliance. The following information was reviewed: daily attendance, emergency supplies, injury reports, fire and shelter-in-place drills, liability insurance policy, and emergency preparedness plan. Medication is being administered, medications, and written authorizations were reviewed for the center's compliance. There are multiple staff with current MAT, CPR, First Aid and Daily Health Observation training on site. The center provides transportation for the school aged children. During this inspection, there were six children?s records and four staff's records reviewed. Most standards but not all standards were inspected during today's inspection.
The center's first aid kit and emergency supplies were inspected.
