Today an unannounced monitoring visit was conducted with new Principal this visit took place in afternoon. There were 7 classrooms observed with a total of 117 children with 22 staff within the supervision guidelines. The children were observed having lunch, and nap time. positive interactions were observed during this inspection. A complete inspection of the fire drill log, physical plant, medication and children records were observed during this inspection. Standard #: 22VAC40-185-280-H Description: Based on observation of the classroom, purses were found in the classroom accessible to children. Evidence: In the PreK2 Classroom, a purse was found on the sink counter accessible to children. Plan of Correction: Principal stated that she will do a sporadic check of the classrooms each week to ensure that all purse are being kept locked or inaccessible to children.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-340-D Description: Based on observation of the classroom, one staff member was observed supervising more than two aides. Evidence: In the Intermediate classroom, the lead teacher was observed supervising more than two aides. Plan of Correction: Principal stated that one of the staff members will be removed and placed in the classroom only while one of the aides is on break.
