Technical Assistance:
Sunscreen permission slips were discussed.

Comments:
The inspector completed an unannounced monitoring inspection from 10:30 a.m. until 1:00. There were 30 children in care in the age range of infant to preschool. Staff maintained ratios at all times. A therapist, the cook, and two family service workers were also present. Children were observed playing at centers, having inside play time, having a diaper change, washing hands and getting ready for lunch, and having lunch. One medication and the corresponding paperwork was reviewed. One bus was inspected. Three children's records were reviewed. Please call your inspector with any questions at 276 698-9981. Thank you.

Standard #: 22VAC40-185-280-B
Description: Based on observation, there were unlocked hazardous substances. Evidence: 1. The inspector observed a bottle of cold and flu disinfectant on top of the cabinet by the bathroom in the toddler classroom. IT was out of reach of the children but not locked.

Plan of Correction: Staff will lock the spray bottle up.

Standard #: 22VAC40-185-510-A
Description: The center did not have the required paperwork completed correctly. Evidence: 1. The inspector reviewed the paperwork for (1) OTC medication. The parental authorization stated to be given every 4 hours, and staff reported it was to be given as needed.

Plan of Correction: Staff will send home the medication because child no longer needs it.
