Technical Assistance:
Discussion that there are only 4 of 23 staff who have yet to complete their 10 hours of subsidy training, and become certified in both CPR & First Aid by their April 1, 2017 deadline.

Comments:
The annual SHSI inspection was conducted for the Goddard School located in the town of Leesburg, Virginia. This inspection was done in unison with the Unannounced Monitoring Inspection performed on this date as well. If you should have any future questions, please call. Thank you. Violations:
Standard #: VENDSUB-000-031-B-1
Description: Based on review and interview, currently there are no procedures to address reuniting children with parents or authorized person designated by the parent to pick up the child with regards to all scenarios. Evidence - 1. On the date of inspection (03/24/2017), after review of the Emergency Preparedness and Response Plan (EP&RP), a reunification procedure with regards to evacuation (on site for fire drills and off site for a relocation), shelter-in-place, and lockdown were not available. 2. The Assistant Director stated (during an interview conducted on the date of inspection) that she was not aware of these procedures for the center.

Plan of Correction: Reunification procedures for all scenarios shall be added to the EP&RP. Such procedures shall be trained and communicated to staff, and communicated to parents.

Description: Based on review and interview, lockdown procedures were not listed with the center Emergency Preparedness and Response Plan (EP&RP). Evidence - 1. On the date of inspection (03/24/2017), Lockdown procedures could not be located within the center's EP&RP. 2. The Assistant Director stated (during an inspection conducted on the date of inspection) that currently their shelter-in-place areas are the classroom bathrooms. However, there are no locks on these doors.

Plan of Correction: A lockdown room(s) or devise will be determined. Procedures shall be formulated and included in an addendum to the current EP&RP.
