Today an unannounced monitoring visit was conducted with the Center Director & Adminstrator. This visit took place in the morning between 9:00am-11:30 there were 3 classrooms observed with a total of 68 children with 8 staff within the supervision guidelines. The children were observed practicing for a spring music concert, having snack, arts & craft, painting and in transition for afternoon dismissal. Snack consisted of croissants, jam & pineapples. Positive interactions were observed during this inspection. A complete inspection of the physical plant, children and staff records, fire drill log, medication, and emergency procedures. Standard #: 22VAC40-185-510-D Description: Based on observation and review of the medication, a medication was found with an expired authorization form. Evidence: Child #1's medication was found with an expired medication authorization (3/12/17). Plan of Correction: Center Director stated that she will return the medication to the parent and or have them fill out a new medication authorization form.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-560-G Description: Based on observation of he food containers brought from home, some containers were not clearly dated and labeled in a way that identifies the owner. Evidence: 4 lunch containers were found without a name. Plan of Correction: Center Director will send out a reminder to the parents and will request permission to write on the lunch containers.
