Comments:
An unannounced monitoring visit was conducted today between 8:10am and 9:25am for the morning extended program. 7 children and 3 staff were present. Ratios were in compliance. The physical site, 2 staff records, 5 children's records, evacuation drills, first aid supplies and medications were reviewed. All required documents were posted. Children were observed playing with legos, reading and engaged in free play. The interactions between the staff and children were positive. The site was clean and well organized. Violations:
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-510-C
Description: Based on review of medications, the site did not follow their policy to prevent the use of outdated medications. Evidence: Medication for Child #1 expired in November 2016.

Plan of Correction: We will contact the parents today.
