An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted on April 13, 2017. The owner and director were present. There were 3 infants and 2 toddlers in care with 2 staff, with all of the children sleeping. In the Two Year Old Room there were 10 children with 2 staff, and they were sleeping on cots. There were 10 three year old children with 2 staff, and the children were eating lunch in the cafeteria. In a Four Year Old Room there were 9 children with 1 staff, and in a second room there were 6 children with 1 staff. Both groups were listening to a story before lunch. There were 25 school age children with 2 staff, with the children working on an Easter art project. There were no medications on site and no allergy issues for the children in care. Five staff records and 4 children's records were reviewed. Staff had completed the required Pre Service Training and had first aid and CPR certification. Evacuation and shelter drills had been documented. Inspection began: 11:00 Inspection ended: 1:20
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-160-C Description: Based on a review of 5 staff records, the center did not obtain documentation of results of a TB test/screening at least 2 years from the previous screening. Evidence: The most recent TB test/screening documentation on file for Staff # 2 and Staff # 5 was dated 1/30/15. Plan of Correction: Staff are scheduled to go for the test/screening tomorrow.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-280-B Description: Based on observation, the center did not ensure that cleaning agents were kept in a locked place. Evidence: The laundry closet located in a hallway, was not locked. There was a box of powdered laundry detergent on the floor. Plan of Correction: Corrected during inspection.
