Comments:
An unannounced Annual Subsidy Health and Safety inspection was conducted from 11:40 a.m. to 3:10 p.m. At the time of entrance the following adult to child ratios were observed: 6 children, age 2 years old, with 1 staff 4 children, ages 3 to 4 years old, with 1 staff 8 children, ages 16 to 23 months old, with 2 staff 8 infants, 4 to 17 months old, with 3 staff The records sample size consisted of 3 children?s records and 2 full staff records and training for 8 staff. Children were observed eating lunch, which consisted of cheese sticks (on crust) broccolli, corn, and milk, resting quietly on cots and in cribs, being held, rocked and bottle fed. Restroom procedures, hand washing, food service and table sanitizing were also observed. Medication administration was not observed. The Director states that there are no children currently being administered medication while in care and that no children are currently transported in a vehicle while in care. Areas of non-compliance are identified on the violation notice. Thank you for your time during today's inspection. Please do not hesitate to contact me if I may be of assistance.

Standard #: VENDSUB-000-012-E-1
Description: Based on a review of records, the vendor did not ensure that all staff providing care to children shall have Current Certification in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) appropriate to the age of children in care within 30 days of the date of the staff's employment or 90 days from subsidy vendor approval. Of eight staff employed in the center, the director was able to provide documentation that 2 staff (#5 and #7) have current cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) appropriate to the age of children in care. She stated that she is aware that the remaining staff must also have it and is currently looking for training that can be scheduled during times when her staff may attend.

Plan of Correction: The director will schedule the remaining staff to be trained in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) appropriate to the age of children in care by the end of May.

Standard #: VENDSUB-000-012-E-2

Description: Based on a review of the center's written emergency preparedness plan, the vendor has not specifically addressed in writing a plan for Center Lockdown Procedures or the reunification of children with their parents after a shelter in place or center lockdown emergency.

Plan of Correction: The director states that she will add these components to her existing written emergency plan by the end of next week and make both staff and families of children aware of the changes.
