An unannounced Subsidy Health and Safety Inspection (SHSI) was conducted today. Observed 189 children directly supervised by 31 caregiver. Ratio and supervision were in compliance. Operational responsibilities, children's information, caregiver training and development, parental involvement and notifications, nutrition and food services, emergencies and emergency drills. The children were engaged in various activities, to include: free play, manipulatives, reading, singing and dancing, and infant care. An area of non-compliance is identified in this report. The exit interview was conducted with the Provider. Inspection conducted 9:20am to 1:45pm. Standard #: VENDSUB-000-012-B Description: Based on record review, the provider has not completed the required Virginia Preservice Training for Child Care Staff. Evidence: The provider stated she had not yet started the Virginia Preservice Training. Plan of Correction: The provider started the Virginia Preservice Training at the time of inspection.
Standard #: VENDSUB-000-012-C Description: Based on record review, the provider did not have staff complete the Virginia Preservice Training for Child Care Staff. Evidence: The provider indicated staff have not started to complete the Virginia Preservice Training for Child Care Staff. Plan of Correction: We never received the e-mail with the training information. We will have staff begin the training as soon as possible.
Standard #: VENDSUB-000-012-F Description: Based on record review, not all staff employed have completed CPR and first aid training. Evidence: Upon record review, 16 of 44 staff have a current CPR certification and 17 of 44 staff have a first aid certification. Plan of Correction: We will schedule a training.
