- Technical Assistance:
Technical assistance today included record keeping.
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted from 12:15 - 1:45 pm. There were 37 children present with 6 staff. I arrived at the transition from lunch, toothbrushing and changing to naptime. I observed a smooth transition and children falling asleep. . The classroom was filled with inviting activities. Record keeping and children's medication were found to be well-organized. If you have any questions, please contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-160-A Description: During a review of staff records today, one file did not have evidence of a negative tuberculosis screening. Evidence: Staff # 1 had a tuberculosis screening within the required time but the health worker wrote that the result was "indeterminate" rather than negative. Plan of Correction: She will go back to the doctor to clarify this.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-60-A Description: Based on a review of children's records today, it was found that not all required information was available. Evidence: Child # 1 had no emergency contacts listed that could be reached in an emergency. Child # 2 had no documentation of an annual review of emergency information by the parent as required. Plan of Correction: I will talk to the parent today. We will start doing the annual check and write down the date of the check and the parent's signature each year.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-270-A Description: During today's inspection, an area of the center was observed to not be maintained in a safe condition. Evidence: There was peeling paint at child height in the area near the bathroom. Plan of Correction: The cots are usually stacked there and block that area but we will tape it until it can be repainted.
