Comments:
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted from 9:32 a.m. - 12:20 p.m. There were eighty-three children in care with thirteen teachers working directly with them. There were four other staff available to assist as needed. Four children's records were reviewed. Two teachers records were reviewed. At the time of arrival the children were playing outside. The children were observed playing pretend, talking and engaged in discussions with one another and their teachers, working on the pond habitat, building with tiles, working with shapes, coloring and selecting items to paste on their art project bird. Standard #: 22VAC40-185-260-A
Description: Based on documentation the facility failed to have documentation of an annual fire inspection. Evidence: 1. On 05/25/2017 the licensing inspector and staff #1 reviewed together the most recent fire inspection which was dated 05/11/2016.

Plan of Correction: I telephoned the fire department immediately and the fire inspection is scheduled for Wednesday, May 31, 2017 at 2:30 p.m.

Standard #: 22VAC40-185-580-B
Description: Based on inspection the facility failed to have a current Virginia State inspection for the vehicle used for field trips. Evidence: 1. On 05/25/2017 the licensing inspector and staff #1 reviewed the vehicle used for field trips and found the state inspection sticker expired 04/17.

Plan of Correction: We will schedule an inspection immediately.
