An unannounced Subsidy Health and Safety Inspection (SHSI) was conducted today. Observed 14 children directly supervised by 6 caregivers. Ratio and supervision were in compliance. Operational responsibilities, children's information, caregiver training and development, parental involvement and notifications, nutrition and food services, emergencies and emergency drills, and transportation and field trips were reviewed. The children were engaged in various activities, to include: free play, legos, gross motor activities, recyclables projects, parent pick up and preparation for parent conferences and a class field trip to Wolf Trap . Violations cited at the time of the inspection or identified within this report. The exit interview was conducted with administration. Inspection conducted 4:10 pm to 6:00 pm. Standard #: VENDSUB-000-033-E Description: Based upon record review and interviews, required policy was not in place to prevent cross contamination. Evidence: There was no written policy on record that when food is served or prepared that a child is allergic to, the center shall take steps to avoid cross contamination to prevent an allergic reaction. Plan of Correction: Administration will create reminders of cross contamination plan and post in classrooms and also refer to catering agreement to view their policy and put in writing.
