An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today beginning at 10:05am. Today was the second day of summer camp. 6 classroom were inspected and staff to child ratios were in compliance. The physical space, playgrounds, evacuation drills, medications, six staff records, seven children's records, attendance records, policies and injury reports were reviewed. The playground safety plan and orientation for summer camp staff were also reviewed. Required documents were posted. Children were observed playing outside, returning from the pool and eating snack. Lunches brought from home were correctly labeled. The space was clean and organized. Interactions between staff and children were positive. Standard #: 22VAC40-185-160-C Description: Based on record review, the Tuberculosis screening for one staff member is not current. Evidence: The documentation for Staff #1 stated the most recent TB test expired on 06/05/2017. Plan of Correction: I have a more recent screening. I will bring it in right away.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-550-M Description: Based on record review, 1 out of 10 injury reports were incomplete. Evidence: An injury report dated in May, did not document the method or time the parent was notified. Plan of Correction: The report was done during the school year. We will make sure everyone fills out the reports correctly.
