Inspection Date: July 12, 2017

Complaint Related: Yes

Areas Reviewed:
22VAC40-185 ADMINISTRATION.
22VAC40-185 STAFFING AND SUPERVISION.
22VAC40-185 PROGRAMS.

Technical Assistance:
Discussed staff and child ratios during rest time. The ratios at rest time may double as long as all resting children are within sight and sound supervision of the staff member and additional staff members are in the building for assistance with supervision as needed.

Comments:
A complaint investigation was initiated on July 12, 2017 regarding the staff to child ratios in the intermediate and beginners classrooms. Interviews were conducted with staff and the assistant principal and documentation was reviewed. There was not a preponderance of evidence to support the allegation regarding supervision. During rest time, the staff to child ratio doubles in the classrooms and meets the licensing requirements.
