- Technical Assistance:
An exit interview was conducted with the provider to discuss the results of today's inspection. Consultation was given regarding allergy requirements, maintaining records, and notifications in the event of an emergency.
An unannounced Subsidy Health & Safety inspection was conducted today, July 17, 2017 to determine the center's compliance with Subsidy Health and Safety vendor requirements. The inspection was initiated at 2:48pm and concluded at approximately 5:50pm. All subsidy requirements were reviewed and compliance determined. Administrative records, all areas in the center used by children, and outdoor play areas were inspected. See attached notice for violations found during this inspection. Standard #: VENDSUB-000-031-B-1 Description: Based on the inspection of the center's emergency preparedness plan, some of the required components were not listed. Evidence: During the inspection of the center's emergency preparedness plan, it was discovered the following procedural components were not listed: 1. Accommodations or special requirements for infants, toddlers, and children with special needs to ensure their safety during evacuation or relocation; 2. Procedures to address reuniting children with parents or authorized person designated by the parent to pick up the child. Plan of Correction: Per director: We will immediately update the emergency preparedness plan to include special accommodations for children and the reunification plan.
Standard #: VENDSUB-000-031-B-3 Description: Based on the inspection of administrative records, the center did not have any written lockdown procedures. Evidence: During the inspection of administrative records, it was discovered the center did not have any written lockdown procedures. Subsidy regulations require written lockdown procedures to include the following: methods to alert caregivers and emergency responders; methods to secure the facility and designated lockdown locations; methods to account for all children in the lockdown locations; methods of communication with parent and emergency responders; accommodations or special needs requirements for children to ensure their safety during lockdown; and procedures to reunite children with parents or authorized person designated by the parent to pickup the child. Plan of Correction: Per director: We will immediately update the emergency preparedness plan with the lockdown plan.
