Comments:
The licensing inspector conducted an unannounced subsidy health and safety inspection on Thursday, July 27, 2017 from approximately 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm to determine the center's compliance with subsidy requirements. During this inspection, the office manager was present and accompanied and assisted the licensing inspector throughout this inspection. The children were observed by the licensing inspector in the various classroom settings. The census for today's inspection consisted of 39 children. The staff to child ratios were deemed in compliance with licensing standards. During this inspection, the children were observed by the licensing inspector in the classrooms 1, 2, 5, 7 napping on designated cots. The school aged children in classrooms 3 & 4 were observed by the inspector watching a movie, "The 5,000 fingers of Dr. T," on the carpet area. The children's lunch for today consisted of sliced ham, biscuits, sliced potatoes, diced pears, and milk. The staff were observed by the licensing inspector providing age appropriate supervision. The licensing inspector interacted with the staff and children when appropriate. During this inspection, the licensing inspector observed a display of the children's artwork throughout the various classrooms. The inspector was informed by staff in classroom 1 that the children completed a painting activity for dinosaur week. The center's classrooms were equipped with age appropriate toys and supplies to meet the age and stage of development of the children in care. The center's bathrooms, and changing stations were inspected and deemed in compliance with licensing standards. During this inspection, the required postings were reviewed and determined to be in compliance. The following information was reviewed: daily attendance, emergency supplies, food allergy, injury reports, fire and shelter-in-place drills, liability insurance policy, and emergency preparedness plan to include lockdown procedures. There were nine children?s records and three staff's records reviewed during this inspection.
