VENDSUB-000 SPECIAL CARE PROVISIONS AND EMERGENCIES

Comments:
Licensing inspector arrived at 1:15 pm and departed at 5:25 pm to conduct a licensing inspection and a Subsidy Health and Safety inspection. At the time of the tour there was sixty-eight children in care with 10 staff . Additional staff were present to assist in the classrooms. The Licensing Inspector observed nap time, diapering, bathroom break, snack and story time. The sample size consisted of 6 children records and 6 staff records. Areas of non-compliance was reviewed with the director.

Violations:
Standard #: VENDSUB-000-006-B-11
Description: Based on observation, the vendor did not ensure a written allergy care plan for each child with a diagnosed food allergy, to include instructions from a physician regarding the food to which the child is allergic to and steps to be taken in the event of a suspected or confirmed allergic reaction. Evidence : Child #7 did not have a allergy care plan with steps or instructions from his physician.

Standard #: VENDSUB-000-012-F
Description: Based on interview and 3 of 6 records reviewed, the vendor did not ensure staff providing care to children had CPR and First Aid within 30 days of the date of employment or 90 days from subsidy vendor approval. Evidence: During the subsidy inspection conducted on August 8,2017, staff #1 ( Date of hire 06/27/2017) staff #3 ( Date of hire 11/10/2014), staff#6 ( date of hire 3/27/17) did not have CPR and First aid training with in 90 days or 30 days from subsidy vendor approval.

Standard #: VENDSUB-000-031-A
Description: Based on and interview and review of procedures, the vendor did not have emergency preparedness plan with reunification for evacuation, shelter in place and lockdown. Evidence: During the subsidy inspection conducted on August 8, 2017, the vendor did not have procedures addressing reuniting children with parents or authorized person designated by the parent to pick up the child for evacuation , shelter in place and lock down. The word reuniting or reunification was not used in the plans.
