- Technical Assistance:
Requirements in the facility's emergency preparedness plan were discussed. Requirements regarding children's allergies, food sensitivities and dietary restrictions were reviewed. Changes in background check regulations effective 7/1/17 were reviewed.
A Subsidy Health and Safety inspection was conducted on 8/25/2017 to review supplemental health and safety requirements. A licensing inspection was also conducted this date; the two inspections combined cover all subsidy health and safety requirements. Only subsidy requirements that are not covered in licensing standards are reviewed during this supplemental inspection. Violations were found during the supplemental subsidy health and safety inspection requirements and are identified on the violation notice. The inspector arrived at 2:30 PM and departed at 55:00 PM. Eighteen children were in care at the start of the inspection. A sample size of six staff records and five children's records were reviewed. An exit meeting was conducted with the program director prior to closure of the inspection.
Standard #: VENDSUB-000-031-B-2 Description: Based upon review of the facility's shelter-in-place procedures, the facility has not ensured that the shelter-in-place procedures include procedures to address reuniting children with parents or authorized person designated by the parent to pick up the child. Evidence: The facility's shelter-in-place procedures provided do not include procedures to to address reuniting children with parents or authorized person designated by the parent to pick up the child. Plan of Correction: The facility responded with the following: Procedures to address reuniting children with parents or authorized person designated by the parent to pick up the child will be added to the facility's shelter-in-place procedures.
Standard #: VENDSUB-000-031-B-3 Description: Based upon review of the facility's emergency preparedness plan, the facility does not have a lock-down procedure that includes all required information. Evidence: The provided emergency preparedness plan did not include written lock-down procedures. Plan of Correction: The facility responded with the following: Lock-down procedures to include all required components will be added to the emergency preparedness AT least one lock-down drill will be conducted and documented annually.
