22VAC40-191 Background Checks (22VAC40-191)
A Subsidy Health and Safety inspection was conducted on 9/8/17 to review supplemental health and safety requirements. An unannounced Renewal Inspection was conducted on 9/8/17 from 12:35 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. At the time of entrance, the following adult to child ratios were observed: 7 children. ages 2 to 4 years old with 1 staff 10 infants, ages 7 months to 12 months old, with 3 staff The records sample size consisted of 5 children?s records and 5 staff records. Children were observed settling onto mats for nap time and having an afternoon snack of apple juice and cookies. Infants were observed being held and rocked, drinking juice from cups and sitting in infant seats listening to soothing music, crawling, toddling and playing with toys. Diapering, hand washing, food service, table sanitizing and restroom procedures were also observed today. The licensee states that no medication is being administered to children in care at this time and that no children are currently transported in a vehicle. while in care. There have been no accidents or injuries requiring first aid or medical treatment incurred by children in care since the last inspection. The program director states that there are no children currently enrolled who have diagnosed food allergies. A licensing inspection was conducted on the same date as the SHSI supplemental inspection; the two inspections combined cover all subsidy health and safety requirements. Only subsidy requirements that are not covered in licensing standards are reviewed during this supplemental inspection. No violations of the supplemental subsidy health and safety requirements were found. Thank you for your time during today's inspection. Please do not hesitate to contact me if I may be of assistance.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-60-A Description: Based on a review of records, the licensee did not ensure that each enrolled child has a complete record with all required information and documentation. Evidence: 1. Five children's records were reviewed during today's inspection. 2. The record for child #2 did not have a second emergency contact person listed to be contacted in the event of an emergency if the parents cannot be reached. 3. The record for child #4 did not contain documentation of the written agreements between the parent and the center. Plan of Correction: The program director will obtain the required documentation from the parents of child #2 and child #4 by Monday afternoon.
