- Technical Assistance:
Discussion of the subsidy regulations and how they apply to the Child Day Center (CDC). Discussion also included a fleshing out of the reunification procedures for evacuation, shelter-in-place, and lockdown. Currently, the center has a brief procedure, but is encourage to build on it. Suggestion was made to add action to allergy to all posted lists. This information can currently be found within each applicable child's file.
A Subsidy Health and Safety (SHSI) inspection was conducted at the Chesterbrook Academy #822 located in Fair Lakes, Virginia. This inspection was conducted on 09/05/2017, between the hours of 10 am through 4 pm to review supplemental health and safety requirements. An Unannounced Renewal licensing inspection was also conducted this date; the two inspections combined cover all subsidy health and safety requirements. Only subsidy requirements that are not covered in licensing standards are reviewed during this supplemental inspection. Violations were found during the supplemental subsidy health and safety inspection requirements and are identified on the violation notice. If you should have any future questions, please call. Standard #: VENDSUB-000-012-B Description: Based on review, 4 of 5 staff files reviewed indicated that all staff did not complete Virginia Pre-service Training for Child Care Staff. Evidence - 1. On the date of inspection (09/05/2017), the following staff did not have a completed Virginia Pre-service Training for Child Care certificate on file indicating that the required 10 hours of training had been obtained. 2. This review was confirmed on the date of inspection by the Center Director. Plan of Correction: All applicable staff shall complete this training. All new staff shall complete this training within 90 days.
