An unannounced renewal inspection was conducted on September 8th 2017 between 8:20am and 10:30am. There were 56 children in the direct care of 5 staff members. Children were observed eating snack, completing an animal sewing project, building, and reading. Staff were observed to be consistently engaged with the children. The space is clean, organized, and offers plenty of materials for the children to use. Standard #: 22VAC40-185-500-A Description: Based on observation, children did not washing hands prior to consume a snack. Evidence: Children that returned from the gymansium were given juice from the fridge and did not wash hands prior to drinking. Plan of Correction: Children will drink water before returning to the SACC rooms.. Will wash hands if they receive any other snack.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-540-A Description: Based on observation, the first aid kit did not contain all of the required supplies. Evidence: The kit only contains one of the two required triangular bandages. Plan of Correction: Will send the supervisor an email to get a new one.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-560-N Description: Based on observation, children were observed drinking while walking around. Evidence: Children returned from the gymnasium and were given juice. Children were observed walking between tables and between rooms while drinking. Plan of Correction: Children will drink water before returning to the SACC rooms.
