Technical Assistance:
Discussed new background check requirements and daily health observation requirements.

An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today from 1:00pm-3:00pm. There were 72 children directly supervised by 9 staff. The physical plant, 5 staff records, 5 children?s records and 2 medications were inspected. Children were observed sleeping, waking up from nap and gathering their belongings and putting them away. There was an abundant supply of materials for the children. The center was clean and organized. Areas of non-compliance are identified in the Violation Notice. Description: Based on observation, cleaning materials were not kept in a locked place using a safe locking method that prevents access by children. Evidence: 1) In the Panda bathroom, a disinfectant wipe container was placed in an upper unlocked cabinet. 2) In the shared kitchen between the panda room fox room, there were disinfectant wipes were placed in an unlocked lower cabinet. 3) In the shared kitchen in the cubs room, disinfectant wipes were stored above the refrigerator.

Plan of Correction: We will ensure cabinets are locked. Cleaners stored above the refrigerator were placed in a lower locked cabinet.

Standard #: 22VAC40-185-450-A
Description: Based on observation, the center did not ensure each child on a mat did not have a bottom cover. Evidence: In the panda room, two children resting on cots did not have a bottom cover for their cot.

Plan of Correction: The bottom covers were placed on their mats at the time of inspection.
