Comments:
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today, September 18, 2017 to check for compliance with Licensing standards. The inspector initiated the inspection at 10:00 am and concluded the inspection at 11:45 am. Today there were 15 children in attendance with two staff and one additional staff (a family advocate). Upon the inspector's arrival children were playing in centers (play-dough, puzzles, trains/tracks, writing, dress-up and house keeping). Later children sang the clean up song and put things away before hand washing and gathering on the carpet for a story. After the story children were observed at lunch in the school cafeteria. Staff were observed circulating through activities and interacting with children in a positive manner. All areas of the center were inspected to include the main hallway, cafeteria, bathroom, and classroom. The facility had all required information posted to include: the License, last inspection notice, emergency numbers, menu, evacuation map/information, daily schedule along with various parent information and lesson plans. The classroom had age and stage appropriate materials. The first aid kit and non-medical supplies were inspected and found complete. The inspector interacted with staff and children in care. Five children's records and three staff records were reviewed. Staff have current CPR, first aid, daily health observation training and MAT. Medications and authorizations were reviewed. An evacuation drill has not yet been completed for the month of September as school started on 09/12/2017. A lock down drill was documented on 09/15/2017. The two required shelter-in-place drill for the 2016-2017 year were documented on 09/16/2016 and 03/21/2017. Fire Inspection: 08/28/2017 Health Inspection: 09/15/2017 Today's menu consisted of french toast sticks, turkey sausage, carrots, applesauce and milk. If you have questions regarding this inspection, please contact the licensing inspector at 804-662-9758.
