Technical Assistance:
Consultation was given on new background expiration dates, obtaining Central Registry forms from other States from the Adam Walsh link and new model forms on the DSS web site.

Comments:
An unannounced monitoring visit was conducted today from 11:30-1:125. A sample of staff and children's records were reviewed, transition to free play and infant care, emergency preparation and nutrition. Four classrooms are in use and are well equipped with materials and equipment for children in care. Transportation is provided by an outside service for mothers and the children with car seats, emergency supplies and designated bus drivers. Areas of non-compliance are identified in the violation notice. If you have any questions regarding the inspection, please feel free to contact me. Standard #: 63.2-1720.1-B-3
Description: Based on staff interview, six staff who have lived outside the State of VA within the past 5 years did not obtain a search of the Central Registry as of September 1, 2017. Evidence: Staff #1-6 did not obtain Central Registry searches in states outside of VA or the District of Columbia where the individual has resided in the preceding five years as required for the new background searches.

Plan of Correction: Center Management will go on-line to the VA DSS web site to obtain Central Registry forms for the six staff. The forms will be submitted by 10/14/2017.
