Please be aware that information regarding Background checks - including Sworn Disclosure statements and time frames for background checks has been circulated.
An unannounced inspection was conducted at 1:00. The Inspector observed the infant's rooms and the Kindergarten class, checked ratios in the classrooms, interviewed staff, and looked over the classrooms. The Inspector also reviewed records, special care procedures, and food preparation. Please call with questions 703-479-4679.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-60-A Description: Based on record review, it was determined the staff has not maintained all of the required information in Child #3's file. 1. Child #3's file is missing 1 of the 2 required emergency contacts. 2. Child #3 has been enrolled for care since the end of August and there is no immunization or physical report maintained in the file. Plan of Correction: Not available online. Standard #: 22VAC40-185-350-E-4 Description: Based on record review and staff interviews, it was determined the ratio of 1 staff for every 10 children, in the preschool class, is not being maintained in the morning. Evidence: 1. Inspector reviewed all classroom's Face to Name Count sheets and found the Preschool was over from 11 to 14 to 1 on today's date. The time recorded 11 to 1 at 8:28 and was as high as 14 to 1 at 8:44. Upon further review of the week, it was recorded that on October 5, the class was over by 2 at 8:30 Am and over ratio by 3 on October 4 for 15 minutes. 2. Standard #: 22VAC40-185-550-B Description: Based on record review it was determined that the center's emergency preparedness plan does not contain staff training requirement, drill frequency, and annual plan review and update. Evidence: 1. Inspector asked about the updates required for the plan and how staff were trained and aware of the changes in some procedures including lockdown procedures. The staff stated the update has not been completed. Plan of Correction: This will be complete and staff will be trained on the procedures on our Staff Development Day.
