Comments:
A Subsidy Health and Safety inspection was conducted on 10/06/2017 1to review supplemental health and safety requirements. Licensing Inspector arrived at 9:30am and departed at 12:30pm to conduct a Subsidy Health and Safety Inspection. At the time of the tour there were 45 children in care with 10 staff present. A sample of 4 children and 4 staff records were reviewed. The center did not have any medication at the time of inspection. Children were observed playing in centers, on the playground and getting ready for a story. Infants were observed playing on the floor with staff. A licensing inspection was also conducted this date; the two inspections combined cover all subsidy health and safety requirements. Only subsidy requirements that are not covered in licensing standards are reviewed during this supplemental inspection. Violations were found during the supplemental subsidy health and safety inspection requirements and are identified on the violation notice.

Description: Based on a record review the vendor failed to ensure each child with a diagnosed food allergy had a written allergy care plan to include instructions from a physician regarding the food to which the child is allergic to and steps to be taken in the event of a suspected or confirmed allergic reaction. Evidence: Four enrolled children with a diagnosed food allergy did not have a written allergy plan.

Plan of Correction: Administration will obtain an allergy action plan for each child that has a food allergy.
