An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted this date. A total of 26 children with 2 staff present when the Licensing Inspector arrived. A total of 7 children's records, all staff records, emergency preparedness plan, evacuation drills and programming were reviewed. CPR/First Aid, MAT training and daily health training were verified. Attendance record reflected the accurate number of children present during the inspection. Children were observed interacting with table top activities such as bingo, drawing with markers and colored pencils and completing homework. A nice transition was observed from cleaning up materials to locating their backpacks and lining up for outside play. Staff strategically placed themselves at the front and end of the line to ensure all children were within sight supervision. Thank you for your cooperation today. Standard #: 22VAC40-185-280-B Description: Based on observation of physical plant, one hazardous substance was found unlocked. Evidence: One can of gum remover was found unlocked and accessible to the children in care. This substance is considered hazardous and was located on a small table near the kitchen window. Plan of Correction: We will secure this substance today.
Standard #: 22VAC40-80-120-E-2 Description: Based on observation of the physical plant, a required posting was not found. Evidence: The most recent licensing violation notice dated 2/22/2017 was not posted as required. Plan of Correction: We will post the violation notice for today.
