Description: Based on records review and interviews, the center did not ensure it's activities and services were maintained in compliance with licensing standards, the center's own policies and procedures that are required by these standards. Evidence: Licensing Inspectors obtained a copy of the center's policy on discipline. This policy is part of the center's parent and staff handbook, which is reviewed by all staff upon hire. Staff # 3 and Staff # 4 were trained on the center's policies for discipline. Page # 24 of the handbook includes the positive guidance policy which clearly states that teachers must keep in perspective the different ages and stages when using actions to develop positive behaviors in children. On page 25, inappropriate discipline methods are listed. It is clearly stated in this section that any actions from the list are prohibited, and are inconsistent with the principles of positive guidance. Staff #4 used a prohibited method of discipline as stated in the handbook which is "shaking, jerking, squeezing or physically indicating disapproval"
