Technical Assistance:
We discussed regular checking and replenishment of the pea gravel in fall zones of equipment. Also, talked about the scheduling and documentation of six month asbestos material surveillances.

The requirements for use of the new sworn statement and out-of-state central registry checks were reviewed. Please continue to check your email regarding implementation time frames for new background check requirements, including fingerprinting.

Comments:
Thank you for your assistance during today's unannounced monitoring inspection conducted from 10:50 AM to 2:20 PM. Today, there were eleven children, ages three to five, with two children. I viewed program activities, equipment, staffing, supervision, interactions with children, posted information, agency inspection reports, asbestos management record, injury records, emergency supplies and drill records, five records for children, four staff records, staff training, lunch, daily routines, indoor and outdoor areas. We discussed the transportation and field trip procedures used during two recent outings. The children enjoyed opportunities for active outdoor play. A variety of accessible toys, materials and equipment were available to choose from at classroom interest areas. Art including the use of the initial letter of each child's name. The teachers were observed using positive approaches to guidance and facilitating learning using developmentally appropriate methods. Let me know if you have any questions. 540/430-9259
