Comments:
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today, October 30, 2017 to determine the center's compliance with licensing standards. The inspector arrived at 3:50 pm and concluded the inspection at 6:00 pm. Upon the inspector's arrival children were observed in a variety of activities. The preschool children were observed finishing snack. Children provide their own meals which we labeled with names and dates. Hand washing was observed along with the cleaning and sanitizing of tables. As children finished with snack they played in small groups with legos, doll house and ponies. Later children gathered for music and movement. The two year old class and toddler class were combined during today's inspection. Child and staff were observed sitting on the carpet for a story time. School age children were present and observed working on homework. Staff assisted with directions and questions. As children finished they read books or participated in the group activity. Today the group activity consisted of relay races in the gym area. All areas of the center were inspected to include classrooms, the indoor climbing equipment, bathrooms, and two outdoor playgrounds. The classrooms have a variety of learning centers that consisted of science, books, housekeeping, manipulatives, puzzles, art and blocks. Classrooms had age and stage appropriate materials and were decorated with children's art work and seasonal decorations. Staff interactions were positive and encouraged team work.
