Discussed current and upcoming changes to the background check regulations.
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today from 9:00am-10:30am. At the time of inspection, 37 children (two years through five years) were directly supervised by 8 staff and 4 parent volunteers and ratios were in compliance. The sample size consisted of 5 children records and 5 staff records. Children were observed during arrival and check-in, participating in group play, completing art activities, and learning about camping with many sensory activities (acorns, items from nature, animal beads, tents). Hand-washing procedures were also observed. There was an abundant supply of materials for the children. There was an adequate number of staff with current certification in medication administration, CPR and First Aid, as well as daily health observation training. One area of non-compliance is identified in the Violation Notice. If you have any questions regarding this inspection, please contact the Licensing Inspector at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-270-A Description: Based on observation, areas of the center, inside, were not maintained in a safe condition. Evidence: In the Green Classroom, plaster and paint were chipping away from the corner of the wall. The area of chipping was approximately 2 inches by 4 inches. Plan of Correction: I will notify the church of the needed maintenance.
