Discussed with supervisor that one of the two emergency medications on site will expire December 2017.
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today from 11:30am-12:30pm. There were 28 children directly supervised by 3 staff. The physical plant, 5 children?s records, all medications on site, evacuation drills, injury reports, emergency supplies, and policies were inspected. Children were observed playing video games, reading books, building robots out of card stock, and eating lunch brought from home. Hand-washing procedures were also observed. There was an abundant supply of materials for the children. The center was clean and organized. Areas of non-compliance are identified in the Violation Notice. Standard #: 22VAC40-185-550-D Description: Based on record review and staff statement, the center did not implement a monthly evacuation drill for all months program is in sessions. Evidence: A monthly evacuation drill was not practiced for October 2017. Plan of Correction: The center will perform an additional drill in November to make up for the missed drill.
