An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted on December 1, 2017 from 12:00pm until 2:00pm. Upon arrival to the facility, there were eighteen children present with five staff members. The children were observed eating lunch, hand washing and napping. A sample of five children's records and five staff records were reviewed. The licensing inspector toured the facility and reviewed supervision, emergency supplies, practice drills, nutrition, physical plant, required postings, and administration. The violations cited were in the area of physical plant. An exit meeting was conducted with the facility director prior to the end of the inspection.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-280-B Description: Based on observation and inspection of the facility, the provider did not ensure that hazardous substances such as cleaning materials, insecticides, and pesticides be kept in a locked place using a safe locking method that prevents access by children. Evidence: 1. During the inspection conducted on December 1, 2017, the following was observed in an unlocked closet located in the hallway across from the lunch room :washing detergent and lysol wipes. All items were labeled keep out of reach of children. a. It was confirmed during the inspection by the director of the facility that the cabinet was not locked and contained hazardous substances.
