VENDSUB-000 SPECIAL CARE PROVISIONS AND EMERGENCIES
Thank you for your assistance during this unannounced renewal inspection. This on-site visit was conducted on January 8, 2018 from 10:30 a.m through 4:00 p.m. Upon arrival, there were fifty-seven (57) children in the care of thirteen (13) staff. There are a total of seventy-four (74) children enrolled in this program. Five (5) children's records and twenty-three (23) staff records were reviewed and updated. No medication is being administered at this time. Areas of non-compliance may be found on the violation notice. Areas observed were: outside play, free choice activity, education centers, hand washing/bathroom and diapering procedures, transition, story-time and nap. Interactions between the staff and children were observed as positive and the children seem comfortable with their daily routine and schedule. Standard #: 22VAC40-185-160-C Description: One staff member had not obtained an updated tuberculosis screening. Evidence: 1. Based on record review, Staff #2 had not obtained an updated tuberculosis screening. 2. The last documented updated tuberculosis screening was dated 09/10/2015. 3. Staff #2 confirmed she had not obtained an updated tuberculosis screening. Plan of Correction: Staff #2 will obtain an updated tuberculosis screening as soon as posible.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-500-B Description: Based on observation, one staff member failed to clean and sanitized the changing pad after diapering. Evidence: 1. Staff #1 was observed changing a child's diaper and not cleaning or disinfecting the diaper pad after use. 2. Staff #1 confirmed she used a baby wipe to wipe down the changing pad and did not clean and sanitize it after diapering. Plan of Correction: The director will review diapering changing procedures with staff.
