Technical Assistance:
Discussed the recent communication regarding fingerprint based background checks for child day programs. Anyone who has lived in another state in the past five years is required to request a check of the child abuse and neglect registry for each state they have lived in the past five years.

Comments:
The licensing inspector conducted an unannounced focused inspection on Monday, December 18, 2017 from 01:50pm to 02:40pm. This inspection focused on the main areas of previous non-compliance. The children were observed resting on cots. If you have any questions about this inspection, please contact the licensing inspector, Roshon Casey, at (804) 662-9760. PROVIDER: Please complete the ?plan of correction? and ?date to be corrected? for each violation cited on the violation notice and return it to me within 5 business days from today. You will need to specify how the deficient practice will be or has been corrected. Just writing the word ?corrected? is not acceptable. Your plan of correction must contain: 1) steps to correct the noncompliance with the standard(s), 2) measures to prevent the noncompliance from occurring again; and 3) person(s) responsible for implementing each step and/or monitoring any preventative measures. Please do not use staff names; list staff by positions only.

Description: Based on observation on 12/18/2017, the center did not ensure that over-the-counter skin products shall not be kept beyond the expiration date of the product. EVIDENCE: 1. A tube of Desitin diaper rash ointment belonging to Child #4 was observed in the infant room. The cream expired 10/2017.
