Comments:
The Licensing Inspector conducted an unannounced complaint inspection in response to a complaint that was received by the licensing office on 1/3/2018. Interviews were conducted with staff relating to the allegations of supervision, retaliation, and facility policies. Staff were interviewed, attendance records were reviewed and the center's policies were reviewed. The information gathered during this investigation does not support the allegations, so the complaint is determined to be not valid. There was one violation cited in result of this investigation, not related to the complaint. If you have any questions, contact me at Margaret.allworth@dss.virginia.gov or 703-209-3521.

Violations:
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-340-C

Description: Based on staff interviews, during the stated hours of operation there was not two staff present when one or more children are in care. Evidence: Staff #1 stated that she arrived at the center at 7:30 am. Staff # 2 was present by herself with 4 children. Staff #1 stated that the center opens at 7:00 am and staff #3 usually opens with staff # 2 but she had called out sick. Plan of Correction: I did not receive the message about the staff being sick until the morning and arrived as quickly as possible. In the future I will schedule other staff to be available. I will have extra staff opening the center.
