Today an unannounced renewal inspection was conducted with the Center Director. This visit took place in the morning between 9:15am-11:30 there were 2 classrooms with a total of 17 children with 4 staff within the supervision guidelines. The children were observed having morning free play, pretend/dress up, leaning about the Olympics, the letter v and feelings and emotions. Positive interactions were observed during this inspection. A complete inspection of the physical plant, children and staff records, fire drill log, medication and emergency procedures were observed. Standard #: 22VAC40-185-270-A Description: Based on observation of the physical plant, the following area of the center were found not being maintained in a clean, safe and operable condition. Evidence: Upon arrival, chipped/peeling was found along the wall outside of the bathroom near diaper changing pad, and in the 2's classroom. Plan of Correction: Director stated that she will have the walls repainted during spring break.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-280-H Description: Based on observation of the classroom, a purse was found accessible to children. Evidence: In the preschool classroom, staff purse was found on a cubby accessible to children. Plan of Correction: Staff moved the purse during this inspection.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-560-G Description: Based on observation of the food brought from home, lunch containers were found not labeled with the children's name. Evidence: 6 lunch containers were found without the names. Plan of Correction: Center Director labeled all of the bags during this inspection.
